My story

Hello!

My name is Cátia and I live in a village in northern Portugal. I am an illustrator and offer a unique perspective that is fueled by my curiosity about the sky.

I also find inspiration in nature and everyday life.
My art is primarily digital, but I love experimenting with different materials in a traditional way. My illustrations are pure fantasy and I love giving life to small characters.

I have built a strong foundation in visual storytelling through a continuous, self-taught learning system in illustration and photography. I am constantly striving to evolve, and at the moment, I am expanding my skills in digital tools, as well as composition and marketing.

Once upon a time…

are you thinking, “Oh no, not again”? Well, this isn’t a typical fairy tale, maybe not even a tale. But this is my story.

Art has been a part of me since I can remember, though I can’t quite pinpoint when. And the sky has always been my favorite “place”.
I remember being amazed by the stars and asking, “How many stars are there?” I’d try to count them all!
“But what are stars?” “Is E.T. really real?” So many questions, and I’d even come up with my own theories and myths. Of course, I wasn’t the only one, and many curious people have proven so much about our cosmos and our creation. And we still don’t know everything, and that’s what makes astronomy so fascinating to me!

As I grew up, I put these curiosities aside…

A few years ago, I rediscovered art and learned everything all over again. Later, I started studying constellations, and it was then that I created the Wonderbee character. This little cosmic bee opened a path that I never imagined: I can create illustrations and share facts about astronomy.
I have the power to create her adventures, my adventures. And honestly, it’s been a pretty magical!

Thank you so much for being a part of my journey ♡

A little bit more about me
I am extremely curious and introverted. I am a mother, and it is the biggest challenge and most beautiful thing in my life. I struggle with anxiety and have a habit of comparing myself to others, which makes me feel inadequate (hello imposter syndrome). I don’t like wearing high-necked sweaters and being in crowded places. I love wearing black and eating strawberry cheesecake.
