Unveiling Cosmic Secrets

The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope (often called “Roman”) is a powerful infrared observatory destined to revolutionize our understanding of the universe. It will tackle fundamental questions regarding dark energy, exoplanets, and the physics of distant stars, helping us explore how the universe evolved and whether we are alone.
Located nearly 1.6 million kilometers from Earth at a special orbital point, “Roman” will provide extraordinarily sensitive measurements while honoring the legacy of its namesake: the first female head of astronomy at NASA, who paved the way for women in space exploration.
Roman is set to launch August 30, 2026 at 12:20 (Portugal time zone) on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy rocket from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
